6-Month-Old Baby Passes Away in Tragic Incident as Parents Fight for Their Lives

Jake’s mother, Diana Carpenter, shared the GoFundMe campaign while also expressing her grief on Facebook, “We are all totally devastated. […] My heart is broken beyond words.”

The outpouring didn’t stop there. On March 8, family friend Brenda Robinson Adam also shared on Facebook how she had gathered her children and loved ones for a breakfast in honor of Kelly, Jake, and Noah, describing Kelly as someone who “grew up” with her children.

She wrote that those gathered paused to send love and well wishes to both parents, still in the ICU at the time, before turning their thoughts to Noah. “We raised our glasses to remember sweet baby Noah that was taken way too soon,” she wrote. “We never had the chance to meet him but we all loved him already.”

She also reflected on how the tragedy had reframed everything for those around her, adding that the moment had brought her Palmer Road community even closer together. “Life can change in a split second,” she wrote, urging others to never take people or moments for granted.

The Gates Police Department continues to investigate the fatal crash. Anyone with information or who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Gates Police at (585) 247-2262 or email [email protected].

As Kelly fights to recover and Jake begins the long road ahead, the community’s love and prayers continue to pour in for a family that lost so much in a single moment.

Sadly, two young girls also died in a tragic accident that could’ve been prevented. On June 14, 2025, a devastating accident occurred in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, which left two young girls critically injured.

Sadly, after fighting for her life at Nemours Children’s Hospital, one of the girls, 12-year-old Abby Gillon, passed away two days later on June 16, at 2:28 p.m. A fundraiser has since been set up to support her bereaved family.

Initial reports from the Aston Township Police confirmed that emergency crews were dispatched to the intersection of Lehr Boulevard and Concord Road at approximately 2:18 p.m. on a Saturday. There, first responders found two young girls suffering from life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle while riding an electric scooter (e-scooter), from which they fell off.

Both were given immediate medical assistance at the scene before being rushed to a nearby hospital, where they were listed in critical condition.

The driver of the car involved remained at the scene and cooperated fully with authorities. While no criminal charges or citations have been filed, the investigation remains ongoing, led jointly by Aston Township Police and the Delaware County Accident Reconstruction Team.

Following the incident, Lehr Boulevard was temporarily shut down, but has since been reopened to traffic.

News concerning how Abby died was shared by a loved one, who delivered the heartbreaking update on behalf of the late girl’s grieving mother, Lori Kralle. “After fighting hard to combat a severe traumatic brain injury, Abigail passed away,” the friend divulged.
